I have been working with online marketing and web site optimization for at least ten years. Most of my work has been done on my own web site promoting a financial business. I first realized that internet marketing could be very profitable when Google, around year 2000, started sending free traffic to, my then, very crude web site.
Since then, I have learned, through study and trial and errors, how to drive traffic to my web site and have created a viable online business. My first success came with PPC (Pay per Click) marketing. As I figured out which keyword were most profitable and at what price and position, my cost went down and the quality of my results went up significantly. You know you are doing something right when you can take about $20,000 and turn it into more than a $100,000 within less than a year.
As I learned more about online marketing and search, I realized that my knowledge of PPC may extend to organic searches. I was only partially right. It took quit a bit of learning (which I continue to do and enjoy) and hard work to bring my web site to the point where I no longer had to spend a dime to bring quality and profitable traffic to my web site. And yes, I did get to that point. Although my traffic is not what one might consider astronomical, I am able to avoid spending PPC money and still generate the same income. To put it in perspective, my organic web site traffic grew more than 300% in about 4 months and it still climbing. If we meet, I would love to tell you more about how I did it!
To supplement the results of my online success, I also decided to revamp my already successful e-mail marketing campaigns and try to maximize my gain from every request I would receive from prospects. One of the key here is to learn how to ask prospect for business without being annoying and come across as spaming. Although, I did have previous success with e-mail marketing, the prospects from organic searches seemed different. They were at the same time more interested and yet more removed than my PPC prospects. After a few adjustments and alliances with affiliates, I was able to generate new income streams and turn prospect into clients either after the first e-mail contact or after two or three follow ups. Respectfully removing e-mail addresses upon request, I believe, was one key ingredient. Combining web marketing and more traditional methods such as telephone and direct mail further helped significantly increase general profit from each contact..
